The joy of having triplets is unmatched, and getting the right products to make life easier for parents can also be fun, albeit challenging at times. This is especially true when looking for a quality triple stroller. With so little options to choose from, families can find it daunting to pick the right one, for the right price and needs.  Looking at the layouts possible, price options, and brands can help make an educated decision in regards to the right carriage.

Transporting Three Children in a Triple Stroller

The layout is important, and can help transport three children with relative ease. The three children can either be side-by-side making for a wide carrying option or they can be lined up like a train car moving forward in a slim design. There are no other options that have been as widely used as the two aforementioned, and each style has it’s own unique positive and negative attributes. The decision for the layout needs to be made through careful plotting, and understanding of what the stroller will be used for, and what kind of terrain will be accessed.

Triplet Strollers and Comfort

One thing that is not often thought about when looking at a triple stroller is the comfort level of a child. This is often overlooked because a parent can be looking at the overall structure, sturdiness, price, and weight of a carriage. However, when a child is placed inside the seats, it can be uncomfortable for them, and that’s the real litmus test. Most retailers will not allow full test runs, so it’s important for parents to consider the comfort of a seat and stroller to ensure that children will not mind riding around in the seating. This is definitely not something that can easily be illustrated and takes a parents view to really understand the options.

Size, weight, and mobility are three aspects of a triple stroller that parents are going to have to notice from day one of looking into the options available. With a sturdy, triple option, the weight is going to increase as well as the size. Mobility will be an issue as well, and the weight of three children inside the stroller will also not be an easy thing to manage, at least not at first. There is no real way around this issue, and parents should expect this. There are some rare, lightweight options, but many find them cumbersome and mobility is still an issue.

Budgeting for a Stroller for Triplets

Finally, the price will always be a point of interest for anyone looking to purchase a triple stroller of any size, shape and brand. There are not a lot of bottom of the barrel priced options, and most parents find that the stripped down, lightweight models aren’t really conducive to travel plans, and therefore are avoided. Middle of the road price ranges is expected, and high-end models will definitely be attractive. Finding a middle ground can be important, especially for families on a budget. When in doubt, shop around, make sure to assess the needs of the children, and consider an option that will work functionally, and also won’t stress the wallet too much.

Parents of twins have to deal with two bundles of joy coming into the world, and that can send some into a tailspin. Planning for the arrival, getting rooms ready, and getting a twin stroller can be something of a daunting task, especially for first time parents who aren’t quite ready for having twins. Experience can be a great teacher, but for those that aren’t willing to take the bumps and bruises that can be dealt with learning the hard way, there are some helpful hints that can help make the process of picking the best stroller for twins easy. Having twins is not just buying two of everything, as there is options made specifically for parents of two children, and the line up is expanding all the time.

Selecting The Best Twin Stroller

Before a purchase is made, it’s important to assess the overall needs of the family. The assessment should not just be monetary, but setting a budget is a good idea. Will the twin stroller be taken off road, through parks with grass, sand, dirt, and other debris? Or will it simply be a sidewalk cruiser, going through pavement and asphalt around the neighborhood? Or will parents be pushing their children in all terrain? These questions should be asked because it will help the decision making process that much easier once several strollers look appealing.

A good rule of thumb to consider when selecting a twin stroller is to consider two unique tandem stroller designs. One design has two children next to one another in turn needing a wider stroller that can be irksome on sidewalks that become narrow. This is not to say the design is not ever a good idea, but it is something to consider when shopping around. Getting an option where two dual seats are placed one in front of another, can be a wise option, as it is longer than side-by-side designs, and can be easier to turn and navigate. The downside is often the weight differential, which makes the initial push difficult, where as the side-by-side design can be easier to push but harder to turn. Weighing the pros and cons of the design is key to picking the right carriage.

Reviews and Ratings on Strollers for Twins

Lastly, always look for reviews and ratings from trusted sources. Finding the perfect twin stroller for twins can be fulfilling, but before the final purchase is made, ensure that the reviews from real parents match the marketing speech that the company might throw into entice parents. Always look around for friends, family, and other parents that might be able to recommend an option that works best. If no word can be found, look to try one out, and see if it will be a good fit for the needs of the family. Getting the right stroller is important, because the last thing any parents wants is to spend a lot of money replacing strollers that fall apart from normal wear and tear. A sturdy, well built, tandem stroller is the best option for parents of twins, and can take time to find.

Having children is amazing, and it is such a special time for parents to be. But the news hits all new levels when the doctor announces that a happy couple is having twins! That’s right, two bundles of joy, double the fun, and double everything. After the initial joy wears off, some might panic at the notion of twice the trouble, messes, and complications that can arise with two instead of one. Brushing the panic aside can be hard, but once it has worn off, a new sense of accomplishment can replace the anxiety by simply looking at the fascinating world of twins.

Twin Clothes, Double Strollers, and Much More

The connection of parent and child can be something that is hard to duplicate, and the bond that is created within a family having twins is even harder to understand. The adhesive seems to stick from the beginning, giving parents a delightful new life to get used to. Aside from the emotional and physical similarities or differences, a parent can enjoy the beauty of twins by investing into a few items, most prominently a double stroller.

A double stroller can be an amazing thing for parents that are having twins. These sturdy and strong carriages are not just for transporting children, although some are made specifically for that causal walking time. They are made to help parents get out of the house with their kids and get moving into action. Before going to far down the road of these strollers, it should be noted that there are two different styles to choose from, aside from the ones made for jogging and off roading, and the ones for casual strolls through the park.

Side-by-Side Double Strollers and Tandem Double Strollers

The two different styles are easy to identify. The first is a side-by-side design where both twins get full view of the world around them, sitting next to each other on a wider frame. The second style is a narrower frame that has one child up front and one in the back. The two styles lend themselves quite well for those that are having children, and can range in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and overall styles. The price also fluctuates wildly based on the needs of the parents.

Aside from dual stroller options, having twins require clothing and there are two routes that can be taken with the dressing of two children. If one is a girl and one is a boy, then there will be obvious differences in attire, but for two children of the same sex, many parents find that matching them in alternating colors and styles can be quite conducive with showing off their individuality, while preserving their bond and friendship of being born from the same womb within a relatively close time frame. Telling identical twins apart can be hard for some, even parents, which is why sticking to alternative colors and styles can come in handy, but then again, it can also backfire. When in doubt, putting a small bracelet on the wrist of children can help in the process.

A baby can bring some irksome moments for a couple, especially when pushing them through cityscapes. Now imagine how complex it can be to have twins, triplets, or even quadruplets! Multiplying the children by four, can really put a strain on parents, especially those that want to live an active lifestyle and bring their children with them on runs, jogs, or just walking in the outdoors. Just because there are four more children to love, doesn’t mean a parent has to be an urban hermit, they can be active and take the little ones along with them with a lightweight quad stroller, made for running, and being mobile through city and off beat paths with ease (check out the Foundations Quad LX 4 Passenger Stroller).

Quad Stroller Wheels Can Make All of the Difference

Before purchasing a quad stroller with the purpose of running through the city day or night, be prepared to purchase one of two different types of wheel. The zm27052 Running Through The City With A Quad Strollerconfiguration of the carriage is vital for those that are looking to keep active. The two different types are fixed and swivel. Much like their name, they do exactly what they say; one stays fixed in one position and is easily moved forward, but can be rough on turns. However, a swivel style can be easier to turn on a dime, and move forward, side-to-side, and adjust, especially once it starts moving forward. With the added weight of children, the speed can be quite fast with a fixed or swivel option, which can take some getting used to.

Running Through The City With A Quad Stroller

A quad stroller made for jogging and running will feel light to the touch, easy to push with or without children, but is made of sturdy materials, with the parent and child in mind. The wheels are specially made to take on a lot of terrain and are comparable to bike tires. The carriage and seats are slanted to have an aerodynamic pitch, so that a mom or dad can get less wind resistance. The design is specifically calibrated for quadruplets.

Quad Strollers Made for Jogging?

The downside to getting a stroller of this size and made for jogging is that the price tag is usually quite large. All things considered, however, the price might end up being better than most options. Quadruplets can pose a problem for manufacturing, trying to fit four children in a quad stroller and still maintain the mobility of a jogger? That’s a rough task for any designer, but it is not only possible, there are several options that have been well received by families (check out the Runabout 2011 Quad 4-Seater Stroller Running Through The City With A Quad Stroller).

It’s not easy dealing with quadruplets, as it is never easy to have multiple children all around the same age, but for those that can manage the task and still want to get some quality time exercising, the best bet is to look into the options found in joggers, especially those that can fit 4 children with relative ease. The results might astonish some, especially those not familiar with the possibilities available in the general market for those with four children, and a need for some outdoor fun in the sun and wind.

Parents find that picking out a new stroller for their children can be a painstaking process. There are thousands of options available to parents of all backgrounds, and cycling down a few choices to the ultimate decision can be headache inducing. The purchase should not be made in haste, or out of desperation, which is why there are some universal tips that can be applied by any parent when picking out the best stroller. Consider the following options before making the final purchase, and ensure that high quality is the focus, alongside budget.

What to Look for in the Best Strollers

The first thing to consider is how strong is the stroller. Sturdiness is something that every person should check into when looking at picking out the best stroller. This is important because the safety of children goes hand in hand with the strength of the stroller, and finding one that is not going to fall apart after taking some abuse, is crucial for the longevity of the carriage. A sturdy option can give peace of mind to the person pushing and moving around, and that can go a long way.

Secondly, consider whether or not folding is possible. One thing that will help in the transportation of children to and from a variety of places is a folding mechanism. Without folding capability picking out the best stroller could be an arduous task. The fold should be easy and not hard to do, but at the same time, not so flimsy that an accidental push of a button will send the carriage folding into a pretzel. Learning how to fold the stroller properly is imperative before the purchase is made.

The third thing to consider is the weight. Weight is sometimes seen as a combination of sturdiness and folding ability, but it really is a matter of construction. The frame of a buggy is relative to the amount of effort that it is going to take to push, and lift when trying to move from one place to another, or taking a trip. The best stroller is often a mix between heavy strength aluminum and other fibers, but never too heavy. A really heavy model could be rough to transport long distances, and can be inconvenient in a lot of ways. Always look for something that is not too light but at the same time is not too heavy, there has to be a healthy medium found.

Budget for a Twin Stroller is Always a Factor

Lastly, consider the budget when picking out the best stroller. The cost of some heavy-duty options can be quite expensive and break many budgets, but are not necessarily the best fit for your child. The assumption that the higher costing option is better than a lower costing item is a fallacy that can be easily proven when applying the aforementioned tips. There are some top rated strollers that do not cost an arm and a leg, and are created for moms and dads that do not have a lot of money to spend, but still want great overall design, construction, and quality.

Lightweight double strollers can be a great investment for parents that want to be fit throughout the growing years of their children. So many people enjoy running, jogging, and being active, that manufacturers of strollers took note and designed tandem options to help parents continue their passion for fitness even after twins arrive in their lives.

The Importance of a Lightweight Double Stroller

Not all lightweight double strollers come with all the features needed by today’s working parents. Parents of twins will find that they require a bit more help in terms of dealing with the outdoors and their children. Without a lightweight option, pushing two children at the same time can be hard. This is noted by the weight of the children and the actual carriage. Carefully choose a lightweight option that has all features that are wanted, including an emergency brake system, rubber wheels, swivel or stationary wheel design, and easy to grip and hold onto handlebar, are just a few of the features a parent should always look for.

A concern for safety is always an issue when dealing with lightweight double strollers. This is especially true for people that are dealing with activities like jogging or running. There are lightweight metals and frames that can be utilized for the construction of baby carriages, which is the reason why many options seem lightweight and flimsy, but upon testing can withstand excessive force. The average parent is not going to put the stroller through the ringer, but normal wear and tear should not shake the foundation of a good quality purchase.

Finding a Double Stroller that Folds

Folding double strollers are the best choices to look for. This is especially true if parents of twins want to take their children to a location away from the home, and want to change the setting of their run. Getting children to experience the world is a beautiful thing, and can be done with ease if a carriage can easily fold and be stowed away in the trunk or backseat of a vehicle. Look for options that easily fold down and prop back up with ease of use.

Mobility, construction, weight, and price can also fluctuate wildly with options that are meant for twins. Manufacturers have recently started to bring down the suggested retail price of many options because the high cost of having twins can sometimes put a major dent into the buying power of consumers. With so many brands starting to bring out high quality options at reasonable prices, it’s no wonder why parents are considering lightweight double strollers as a go to item to purchase for the arrival of their twins.

There are so many brands to choose from in regards to joggers. Some of the best-reviewed options include Schwinn, InStep, Baby Trend, Jeep, Reebok, and so many others. The options seem unlimited in terms of brands, and some are definitely better than others, which is why it can be imperative to read reviews about certain models to ensure high quality goes hand in hand with price. There’s nothing more fun than going for a jog with twins, and enjoying the greatness of the outdoors with peace of mind.

Double Stroller Reviews

There are a lot of reviews online about all types of things that consumers buy. One such section that needs mentioning is the blossoming world of double stroller reviews. There are a lot of parents that are taking to the World Wide Web with opinions about the latest and greatest offerings from major brands. Twins might bring double the joy to a family, but they require more attention and special items to help them move forward through the world with ease. Comparing different reviews online can be helpful in purchasing a stroller of great value, but it’s important to ask a couple of questions when reading what experts and real people are saying. Without dissecting the writing, people might get mixed up with marketing speech rather than genuine experience.

Discover What Your Needs Might Be

The first thing that parents should ask themselves when reading the plethora of double stroller reviews online, is what are their specific needs. Just because someone is complaining about the off road capabilities of one brand, doesn’t mean that another parent is going to take their children off the beaten path. Comparing and contrasting individual needs can help eliminate negative points in some reviews, and highlight positives, while making sure that relevance is on point.

Look out for reviews that make no mention of price. The greatest option might end up being far too expensive for the average consumer; meanwhile what someone might deem inadequate might be solely based on their perception of price. Some might esteem an item less because the price paid is not worth the outcome of their usage. Trying to decipher each option in terms of price range can be cumbersome, but must be taken note, just in case bias is showcased based on price paid.

Know the Brands and Models

Take a note of brands, and make sure that double stroller reviews note specific brands and models. Some of the top brands getting a lot of stroller reviews include, Baby Jogger, Kolcraft, InStep, and Baby Trend, just to name a few. There are many brands that can be noted, and looking at the track record of any brand can help differentiate between a high quality manufacturer, and one that continually makes bad products. Always look at shifts in quality over the years, and look for consistently good products and brands to make the right decision in regards to any carriage for a child, even twins.

Joggers, off road strollers, city walkers, and many other names and types of tandem options are available to the general public. Assessing the needs of parents and children together can be beneficial in the process of reading reviews. Before investing any kind of money into a stroller, always look into what the overall needs are, because the manufacturing of specific styles goes hand in hand with the overall purpose of a stroller. Sure a carriage is meant to carry children, but what if a family goes camping and wants to bring the children along for a ride through nature? They certainly will need a more “Safari” style option, and that’s just the beginning of potential outings that require specific types of transport for twins. Reading double stroller reviews can be crucial to making the right decision.

Moms and dads have a lot of planning to do when they welcome a child into the world, but those that are having twins have double duty, and that’s why it is crucial to look into a variety of options that will satisfy their needs beyond what the average parent has to plan for. Picking a stroller is rough, but picking the best twin strollers can be even more daunting, especially for new parents. The tandem design of a carriage can come in handy, and are made in a variety of different ways. When traveling long distances or simply going for a brisk walk, a two seat buggy can really make a difference, and easily help in taking children outside to enjoy the weather or simply to be companions to a walking parent.

Finding the Right Twin Strollers Style

The first thing to decide when shopping around for twin strollers is to decide which style is best suited for the needs of the family. There are two styles to consider, one being a side-by-side design option and the other is a dual reclining option where one child sits ahead of their sibling. Either option works but the side-by-side route will be wider and in some cases a little awkward to push at first. The two maneuver differently and will need some getting used to, but each one is definitely good in terms of innovation as they do a good job in transporting young ones to a variety of locales.

What are Twin Strollers Made of?

The second thing to consider is the material. A combination of weight and upholstery should be considered to make a proper decision. Cheap strollers exist, and this is not in regards to price, but rather in regards to quality of construction. Flimsy materials can make a stroller light weight and shoddy design can cause rips and tears in the upholstery which causes strain on parents and children. Look for a sturdy, well-constructed model that not only has the room for two children but is also not going to topple over or break through normal wear and tear.

Understand Your Needs

The third thing to closely consider is based on the needs of a parent. For some parents getting off road style wheels are key, because the stroller will be taken through mountainous regions, camping, and more. Meanwhile, others will only be using the carriage through paved streets and not necessarily off the beaten path, which won’t require such hard-core wheels. Look for wheels that are rubber and sturdy, do not get a stroller with plastic wheels. There are many twin strollers that have sturdy but vulnerable plastic polymer wheels and they will prove to be irksome when confronted with debris on sidewalks and roads. Wheels are vastly important for the mobility of a parent and their children.

Shopping for twin strollers doesn’t have to be an arduous task. The aforementioned tips are just three options to look into. Never settle for something that is not reliable, and always shop around. The sooner the better, or else panic will set in and purchase decisions could be made in haste. Never be hasty about buying such important pieces meant for children.

Twins bring about so much joy to parents, and yet bring with them a great deal of worry. The worry comes from getting the right kind of equipment and options to transport, feed, and nurture these bundles of amusement. Children require strollers to move around, and parents often prefer options that are easy to push and can last a while. The notion of strength and style goes double for twins, and finding the right double stroller is something of a hard thing to go through without researching a little. Before investing in any carriage it’s vital to look into four things that will help the process go smoothly, and give peace of mind to parents of two children.

Finding a Double Stroller with Good Mobility

Ease of mobility is the first thing to consider when looking at purchasing a double stroller. The mobility of any carriage is key because turning; forward progress, and roaming around through cityscape and more can be arduous without proper turning wheels, and ease of use options. A stroller will often times be heavier than standard options, and will also feature a turn radius that is less than single child models. Whether side-by-side or dual front and back seats, a twin based model can be hard to move. Always look for options that have rubber wheels and can be turned and moved with ease, but still has a sense of sturdiness and good overall construction.

Overall Safety of Double Strollers

Another thing to consider is overall safety. When shopping for a double stroller, always look at the safety rating and reviews associated with how safe the option is. Never purchase an item that has been recalled, or has been discounted for safety issues that may occur. Some retailers still sell discontinued models and do not warn the general public, which is dangerous, but it happens from time to time. With a wealth of information found online, it’s easy to find safety ratings, recall notices, and real reviews on tandem options. Safety can be tested by looking at the harnesses, safety belts, straps, and can be tested by hand.

Double Strollers that Fold

A third thing to remember is to check whether or not it folds. Believe it or not, some manufacturers do not have a foldable tandem model. The folding mechanism can help in the transport of a stroller to any location, and make sure that children can be pushed and taken through a variety of areas with relative ease. The easier the folding, the easier the transport, which is why it’s crucial to get a folding option.

Lightweight Double Stroller

The last thing to consider, and for some a very important thing, is the weight. The weight is not always indicative of sturdiness, or durability. The weight is a matter of construction, frame source materials, and overall size. Getting an option that is at a mid-point in terms of weight can make it easier to push children, while heavy weight options can give a sense of safety. The heavier a double stroller is, the more energy will need to be exerted to push, but the lighter options might not provide the maximum safety children should get, and that’s where the mid range wins.

Naartjie Custom Kids Inc.

One of the decisions parents will have to face when choosing a stroller for twins is deciding between a tandem or side-by-side stroller. There are benefits to both, but it ultimately depends on what you plan to use your stroller for. For example, when our twins were infants, we really wanted to find a stroller that could accommodate the car seats, so that we could just pop the seat out of the car and onto a stroller — without disturbing the babies. Many strollers, tandem and side-by-side will provide this feature, but in my opinion, the tandem stroller was the better way to go for this particular use.

The easiest and lightest tandem stroller (and most compact when folded) for this use is the Snap N' Go double stroller. It's really just a stroller frame (which is what makes it so light), it accommodates a variety of car seats, and has a large storage basket underneath.

The benefit of using a tandem over a side-by-side for this purpose was that you could still fit through all doors. It did, at times, feel as though we were pushing a train because of how long double tandems tend to be, but we still enjoyed this the best while the twins were small enough for us to tote them around in their infant car seat carriers. I highly recommend this for anyone looking to use their child's car seat on the stroller.

Twin strollers have come a long way, and manufacturers have improved the width and compactness of many twin strollers. As the twins grew, we slowly shifted over to a side-by-side. Currently, we use both the Mountain Buggy (for hikes, runs, zoo outings, etc), and the Baby Planet Unity Sport (for everyday use) strollers.

The Mountain Buggy is very similar to the BOB Duallie lines, which is another great option if you are looking for something more rugged, easy to push for runs, and great for longer outings.

We chose the Mountain Buggy simply because of it's look. It's incredibly easy to push (with two toddlers each now weighing 20 lbs+, this is a huge plus!), and the storage room is decent. I have several friends who LOVE their BOB's just as much as I love my Mountain Buggy, so I don't think you can go wrong with either.

The main downfall of these jogging strollers (if you consider this to be one), is the weight. These strollers are heavy. With the exception of the Snap N' Go, it is hard to find strollers for multiples that are going to be as light as a single stroller. This just goes without saying.

For regular outings to the store, quick errands, mall shopping, etc., we have enjoyed the Baby Planet Unity Sport Stroller. This is one double stroller that folds very compactly, and is one of the lightest side-by-side strollers I have found.

The great thing about this company is that you can recycle your stroller once you are done with it. All you have to do is contact the company, and they'll handle the rest. This stroller is our primary "everyday" stroller, so it's been through a lot, and has managed to hold up well.

The only gripe I have is maneuverability. Some times this stroller gets a little ornery when I am trying to make sharp turns, but with everything else they've engineered into this stroller, I am very happy with my choice.

With the side-by-side strollers, the twins LOVE being able to BOTH see out into the world, and I enjoy pushing a stroller of normal size (when considering front to back). The downside is that we can't always fit through *every* door (although this is rare), and clothing aisles tend to be a challenge at times.

But the overall space taken up by a side-by-side stroller is less. The basket underneath our side-by-side is not quite as spacious as the tandem strollers I've seen. And obviously, if you're looking for a good jogging stroller, the side-by-side is pretty much the only option you'll find, therefore a large storage space underneath may not be so important.

Either way, the most important thing to think about when considering your purchase is to decide what your priorities are.

If you are looking for something that is lighter in weight, and folds more compactly, the side-by-side strollers tend to accommodate those features better than tandems. If you are looking for more storage space, and guaranteed clearance into all doors, then the tandem strollers will be the better choice.

Maneuverability, in my opinion, is similar with both. As you can tell from our experience, it can be difficult to decide which would be a better fit as your goals will likely change over time.  We ended up getting and using both.  :)
